Academic Challenge
Academic Challenge is a fun way for students in grades 2 – 5 to work as a team and answer questions over all subject areas. Students are split into groups of Primary (2nd and 3rd grades) and Intermediate (4th and 5th grades) teams. AC helps encourage teamwork, cooperation, listening skills, and extended learning from within the classroom that can help prepare them for the future. 2nd and 3rd grade students will have practice on Mondays. 4th and 5th grade students will practice on Wednesdays. There will be a few scrimmages where all students will meet on a Monday.
The teams competing through all rounds of the Regional competition, held in March, go on to the superintendent’s cup. Winners of this competition receive scholarships for various Kentucky colleges.
