If inclement weather leads to in-person school closures during the 2025-2026 school year, Fayette County Public Schools may announce Nontraditional Instruction (NTI) Days. At this time, we are prepared for up to four (4) NTI Days.
In Kindergarten through Grade 5, students will complete quality assignment packets on designated NTI Days.
Each quality assignment NTI packet includes four (4) separate days of grade-level appropriate review assignments.
We will announce to families on each potential NTI Day of which “day” their child(ren) should complete [NTI Day 1, NTI Day 2, NTI Day 3, or NTI Day 4].
This year, we have elected to focus NTI assignments on quality assignment packets as opposed to technology-based assignments to reinforce the review and skills practice embedded within our high-quality instructional resources - primarily in reading/writing and mathematics.
There are also choice boards made available online for our fine arts areas. FCPS Fine Arts Choice Board: Elementary
You may access an electronic version of our quality assignment NTI packets at this link: FCPS Elementary NTI Dashboard or in the following chart:
| Kindergarten | First Grade | Second Grade | Third Grade | Fourth Grade | Fifth Grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Day 1 | Day 1 | Day 1 | Day 1 | Day 1 |
| Day 2 | Day 2 | Day 2 | Day 2 | Day 2 | Day 2 |
| Day 3 | Day 3 | Day 3 | Day 3 | Day 3 | Day 3 |
| Day 4 | Day 4 | Day 4 | Day 4 | Day 4 | Day 4 |
| Full packet | Full packet | Full packet | Full packet | Full packet | Full packet |
Students will return their NTI quality assignment pages to their teacher upon return to school.
As a reminder, students have three (3) days to turn in assignments once they have returned to school and earn participation by completing the assignments for the NTI day (equivalent to attendance for that instructional day).
All elementary teachers will be available for Office Hours between 8:30-10:30am on NTI Days, and can be reached via Google Meet Links in Google Classroom (Teachers will share the link with families) and/or ParentSquare.
Students are not required to access technology on NTI Days and will not be bringing district-issued Chromebooks home from school.
If you have any questions about instruction, please contact your child’s teacher.
If you have any additional questions, please contact school administration, Matthew Spottswood, or Tara Haywood.
