March 20 Confirmed as Weather Make-Up Day

Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) classes will be in session on Friday, March 20, which the district has confirmed as the first weather make-up day of the 2025-26 school year. The district’s online calendars and PDFs have been updated to reflect this change:

So far this winter, FCPS has had three traditional “snow days” when classes were canceled: Dec. 2, Dec. 12, and Dec. 15. The instructional calendar had designated March 20 as a possible make-up day, along with several other dates at the end of the school year.

State law requires school districts to make up every day missed so that the school year contains at least 170 days of teaching and learning and 1,062 instructional hours. FCPS typically has four extra instructional days built into its calendar as a cushion.
